Description
COURSE DESCRIPTION
A narrative, story or tale is any account of a series of related events or experiences, whether nonfictional or fictional. Narratives can be presented through a sequence of written or spoken words, still or moving images, or any combination of these. Stories are a powerful means of language teaching. A skillful teacher can use stories to develop “more efficient listening, more fluent speaking and the ability to read and write easily and competently”. Storytelling is the interactive art of using words and actions to reveal the elements and
images of a story while encouraging the listener’s imagination. Storytelling involves a two-way interaction between a storyteller and one or more listeners. The responses of the listeners influence the telling of the story. In fact, storytelling emerges
from the interaction and cooperative, coordinated efforts of teller and audience.
